President's Message

Welcome to the Wharton Club of Colorado! Amazingly, we are nearly 700 strong in our beautiful state, and over the last eight years have worked hard to connect, reconnect and build a cohesive and engaged Wharton community in the Rockies.

One of the most important parts of our shared experience is the opportunity we all have to help each other, and in so doing boost the collective power of the Wharton network in Colorado. By creating diverse and interesting events, and by connecting individually with as many alumni as possible, the Club works to help build that network.

In addition to industry-specific events, CEO dinners, visiting professors and casual happy hour gatherings, some of the uniquely Colorado events in the past few years have included the annual Alumni Ski Weekend (which now attracts alumni from across the country), 14er hikes, a bike ride up Lookout Mountain, dinner/presentation with a K2/Everest climber, and a panel discussion on the business and investment issues facing the emerging cannabis industry.

Your participation and input is valued, and a key to our community’s success. You are encouraged and welcome to attend any of our board meetings or events; you are also welcome to get involved! Perhaps you have an idea for an event, and we can help. Like to join the board? Let us know

Membership dues in particular provide the financial support our community needs to host events and provide membership services each year; having alumni join as Club members makes a real difference. And as a club member, you have the opportunity to participate in our unique Quick Alumni Profile (QAP), to post jobs on our website, receive special event pricing, access to “members-only” events and other benefits.

New to town? Please send me an email I’d love to meet for coffee and help get you connected!

Finally, we have a brand new website, which will hopefully improve our ability to send out news, and provide easy access to the greater Wharton network and our local affiliate organizations, the Penn Club and Denver Business Series. I encourage you also to follow our LinkedIn and Facebook pages for quick access to timely information.

I look forward, with your help, to creating and maintaining a vibrant Wharton community in Colorado.

Best regards,

Lauren Mitchell Sveen, WG90
